Through our working as one initiative, we work to build and strengthen our supplier relationships to develop better colloborative behaviours, reduce costs and improve health and safety, environmental and sustainabiility standards.
We rely on our Suppliers to deliver a service that is unrivalled by their competitors.
The knock-on-effect of a supplier not delivering is significant to any of our sites, especially if the product we require has long lead times. Each Supplier wanting to join our Supply Chain has to complete a pre-qualification questionnaire. This ensures we can be sure they meet the required standards. We carry out various credit checks on our supply chain to ensure we don't over stretch our supplier’s financial capabilities when using them on several projects at once.
All of these checks ensure we have a secure supply chain that can deliver what we need, when we need, reducing the risks for our customers.
Minimum Standards
All members of our supply chain must be able to demonstrate that they meet the minimum standards of competence and compliance. This is called the prequalification process or (PQP).
The quickest and easiest route is for you to hold Common Assesment Standard Certification (CAS) for prequalification. Further information about this certification is available on the Build UK and CECA websites.
Just as our clients expect from us, we also require all members of our supply chain to hold a valid Common Assessment Standard desktop certificate and Audit as a minimum. See the Build UK website for a list of assessment bodies.
Supply chain members undertaking work on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure (NRMI) must be a member of the Rail Industry Suplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) and relevant audit.
